  The only people here that deserve a job are the front desk staff. Today, I saw dr. Sexton because of extreme tooth pain. I thought that I could trust him because I have a relative that used to see him YEARS ago. I learned today that second opinions are important and that people change. $106 down the drain for an X-ray they didn't even show me (not even sure if they really even took it) and for him to "tap" (quotes because it was much harder than a tap) on my teeth like "does it hurt" YES it hurts to have extremely sensitive teeth smacked with a piece of metal. They continued to tell me that I had 3 2-surface cavities (spoiler, I don't) and harshly and rudely lectured me about flossing. They told me to stop grinding my teeth in my sleep like I can help whether or not I do that. The hygienist was pressuring me to make an appointment right then and there to dish out $735 for fillings that I didn't even need. I had a breakdown when they showed me how much it would cost and the only helpful people were the receptionists because they comforted me enough to even be able to talk. I left in tears because of the pain I was in and the concept of spending so much money. Later today, I went to my old dentist who accepts my insurance and he took and went through the X-rays with me until he determined that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the tooth or the teeth surrounding it (dr. Sexton claimed that I had one cavity on each of the three teeth). My old (now current because I only trust him now) dentist stayed late and did tests on the tooth and took multiple different X-rays to check for any sort of damage or infection and determined that the cause of my pain is from grinding due to the tension in my jaw when I sleep. Instead of just telling me to stop, he prescribed muscle relaxants to see if they would help my jaw not clench in my sleep and reduce the pain I was having. He actually cared about me as the patient. Dr. Sexton just cared about the money I didn't even have!!! Coastal Family Dentistry is a SCAM!!! They just want your money, and they tried to get me as their victim today because I'm a teenager who is in a LOT of pain. DO NOT GO TO THEM SPREAD THE WORD THAT ALL THEY ARE IS A SCAM!!! I do not want anyone to have to go through the torture that I went through today!
